Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is a facial, and why should I get one?

A facial is a skincare treatment designed to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and nourish your skin. It promotes skin health by improving circulation, addressing specific concerns like dryness or acne, and encouraging natural cell regeneration. Regular facials help maintain a radiant complexion and can slow the signs of aging.

How often should clients get a facial?

For most people, a monthly facial is ideal, as skin cells regenerate every 28 days. If you’re dealing with issues like acne, aging, or extreme dryness, more frequent facials may be recommended to better address your skin's specific needs.

What are some of the techniques used during facials?

We use advanced techniques to achieve lasting results:

- Dermaplaning: Removes dead skin and peach fuzz for smooth skin.

- LED Light Therapy: Stimulates collagen, reduces acne, and evens skin tone.

- High-Frequency Therapy: Minimizes pores, clears acne, and improves circulation.

- DiamondGLow Hydro-Dermabrasion: Exfoliates, clears oil and debris from pores, and penetrates serums.

- Glacial Cryotherapy: to calm skin inflammation, reduce redness, and improve tone for clearer, brighter, smoother, and more youthful-looking skin.

- Ionphoresis/Sonophoresis: Allows deeper penetration of targeted ingredients.

- Microcurrent: lifting and toning facial muscles, reducing fine lines, boosting collagen/elastin, improving circulation.

-Chemical Exfoliation: smoother texture, brighter tone, clearer pores, reduced acne, and softened fine lines.

-Manual Lymphatic Drainage: reduces puffiness, removes toxins, boosts circulation, and promotes relaxation.

-Scuplting Facial Massage: natural lifting and contouring, improving definition and fighting sagging by toning deep facial muscles.

What should I expect during my first facial?

During your facial, your esthetician will assess your skin type and needs, then customize the treatment accordingly. You’ll experience deep cleansing, exfoliation, and hydration, with specific techniques applied to address your skin concerns. Post-treatment, your skin will feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

What do you recommend for facial aftercare?

After your facial, your skin has just undergone a deep cleanse, so give it a break. Allow your skin to breathe and refrain from applying makeup. Your pores will be more open and therefore more susceptible to bacteria. Allow time for serums, creams, and peels to do their work.

If you underwent a chemical peel, follow your Esthetician’s advice for Chemical peel aftercare to protect your skin from irritation. Stay away from exfoliating treatments and be diligent about sun protection. Finally, no picking or pulling! Be patient and allow for natural exfoliation to occur.

How can I maintain the results of my facial?

While the effects of a facial aren’t permanent, extending that post-facial glow is possible with the right habits. Here are a few tips to keep your skin looking fresh for days to come.

  • Maintain a regular skincare routine. At the most basic level, cleanse, moisturize, and protect your face with mild products that will not irritate fresh skin. Since your face underwent a specialized treatment, avoid products like alcohol-based toners, scrubs, and deep exfoliators.

  • Hydration is key. Choose products containing hyaluronic acid to help bind water to the skin and protect its moisture barrier.

  • Protect your fresh new face. Your skin will be extra sensitive after undergoing a facial. Fresh skin is more susceptible to damage caused by UVA and UVB rays. Wear a hat outdoors and use sun care products containing SPF of 30 or higher every day, rain or shine.

 BEFORE

  • Avoid aggressive skincare products, exfoliating treatments, and excess sun exposure

  • Discontinue use of alpha hydroxy acids (like glycolic or lactic acid), beta hydroxy acids (such as salicylic acid), benzoyl peroxide, and retinol at least one week before your treatment

  • Stop using any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating

  • Do not shave, wax, or undergo hair removal on the day of your peel

AFTER

  • In the days following your treatment, use only products recommended by your skincare professional and follow their guidelines for post-procedure care

  • Be diligent about sun protection

  • Allow for natural exfoliation to occur; don’t pick or pull at the skin
